I’ve seen this all over the reels and they made me want to read it! I surely enjoyed reading this. But the thing is… until the very end of the part where plot quickly escalates down to shocking truths, honestly, the whole game and riddle and playing… it was not my type. I’m pretty sure that’s just me because some people might like it, but this whole thing leading up to that point was generally not as exciting as I expected it to be.

I do like the plot and this mysterious setting and all that, but I think this might have been written better. Especially, I felt like the little romance (I don’t even know if I should call it romance 😂) jammed in bits of plot was a little unnecessary. I feel like this degraded the quality of this book by making it more… wattpadish and tacky. And I’ve started to notice this pattern. Whenever I read books praised on reels, I can’t help but notice that most of them tend to exude wattpad vibes. What do you guys think?

Also the way the writer writes, like the lines of what boys say… They can be a little cringy in my opinion 😬. The charismatic characters thirsty to be caught in storms of mysterious games and to win by seizing the answers… I do like this setting but the way characters were portrayed and what they said… hmm they could have been better.

+ I still don’t really understand why exactly Avery was inherited. I think the reasons were not clearly revealed in this book, and I’m starting to wonder if that’s to be solved in the next book or something. Was it just Avery being a good player? There was clearly more than her name and Emily’s death… So what was it? Also why was Harry suddenly involved in the end…? So if you’ve read this series, please let me know in the comments because I was extremely puzzled and confused after finishing it! I was all pushing myself to get to the end to find out why, but it was never really clearly solved. Or is that the whole point of it being a series?😅
